Are you a fan of The Golden Girls? Do you dream of living the life of Blanche, Rose, Dorothy and Sophia? Then get your pennies together, and start whistling “Thank You For Being a Friend”, because the Golden Girls house just went up for sale.
More accurately, the home used for the establishing shot at the beginning of each episode of the classic sitcom. The house, which the show presented as being in Miami Florida, is actually located in California, at 245 N. Saltair Ave, in Brentwood, Los Angeles.
While the fictional sets of the home’s interior on the mid-1980s show were a wonderland of cane furniture and palm tree decor, the reality of the house is spacious and modern.
The house was built by Hawaiian architects Johnson and Perkins, who were commissioned to design this 4-bedroom dream home in 1955.
If you are in the mood to buy, the house is being sold by real estate brokers Douglas Elliman for three million dollars. You can see more of the house’s interior at the estate’s listing.
